Today marks 3 years since America abandoned progress for half the population. The fall of Roe v Wade due to Trump’s SCOTUS ripped freedom from Americans to decide whether, when and with whom to become parents, the biggest emotional, physical and economic responsibility there is. Instead, in more than half of US States, abortion healthcare is not just restricted or banned, but routinely criminalized, meaning the consequences of our most intimate act, married or not, are determined by the state with limited protections even for children, even for rape and incest. That is not freedom. It is control. Don’t let anyone tell you differently. Pregnant women deserve the same protections of our Constitution as any American. Would-be fathers deserve choice. This is a basic, fundamental truth and should be enshrined in our nation’s laws.
